Melissa Martin is a San Francisco based designer with expertise in
interaction design, user experience strategy, graphic design, design
research and education. She has worked with clients big and small
designing digital products and services that bring technology,
aesthetics and functionality together to form humanistic, engaging and
meaningful experiences. Client list includes Kaiser Permanente, Sony,
Microsoft, Google, Hyundai, RedCats, California College of the Arts, and
Pacific Gas & Electric. She also provides graphic design services
for many San Francisco area food, arts and cultural organizations
including Anda Piroshki, Inticing Creations, The Grateful Palate, La
Cocina, and SCRAP Creative Reuse Center.
Along with her professional practice, she teaches interdisciplinary
studio courses that focus on addressing social, cultural and
environmental topics through research-based inquiry and collaborative
design and art practice. Past courses have involved PG&E on energy
data visualization, branding and graphic design for budding food
businesses, culinary storytelling and designing site-specific
installations to activate and re-engage transitional spaces.
