Some of the details from Jeff Keedy's design.
I wanted to explore ideas about taking wine design into a new, unexplored dimension; and somehow create an innovative story experience for the consumer that would happen on and off the label. Artist Matt Bird began to explore approaches and these are early renderings.
This is a package of items I sold in collaboration with Danny Meyer for my retail catalog.
Young designer Tim Gruneison named this wine for the village Marie Antoinette created at Versailles where she secluded herself to find fun and peace of mind. I’d like to hang with Marie. I never made the wine but Petit Hameau became the name of my winery in Spain.
I asked Chuck House to design a label for a classic Barossa Shiraz. This is his presentation.
Jeff Keedy created a font called Lushus, which I felt and still feel would be a wonderful wine brand. We created several iterations but never got a chance to bring it to market.
This is the original art work by James Jean for the Southern Belle label.
Pappas, a Texas and New Orleans chain of restaurants, asked me to design a private label Marquis Philips wine for them. I love these labels but we never completed the deal to produce the wines.
