La Seu

This wine was inspired by my friend Katherine McLaughlin, whose cheese shop, Formatgeria La Seu, is in the shadow of the La Seu Cathedral of Barcelona.  It happens to be one of the finest artisan shops of any kind I’ve ever walked into. I wanted to make a wine to drink with her cheeses.  Marselan was first created in France in 1961.  It’s a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache and exhibits the best qualities or each grape. Structure, color, complexity, and savory flavors from Cabernet. Brightness, ripe fruit flavors, exuberance, and deliciousness from Grenache. Marselan produces deeply colored and highly aromatic wines that have supple tannins and the potential to age.
